Tiger skin and bones seized

Officials of the Forest Protection and Surveillance Unit seized a tiger skin and bones from two Indian men in Gelegphu on September 20. It was confiscated from a hotel in Gelegphu town before the men could trade it with the buyer, suspected to be Bhutanese.

The authorities said the suspects’ room was raided seizure following a tip-off from their informer. The unit has a network of informers both within and outside the country.

The two Indian men were fined as per the forest conservation rules.
