MEET THE SPEAKERS-PEER Bhutan Symposium 2023

Technical Session I

We have three intellectual speakers from the College of Natural Resources(CNR), Royal University Bhutan and they are:

Dr Rekha and Dr Sonam will present their research topic “Enhancing food security of smallholder farmers in Bhutan through building capacity in Climate-Smart Agriculture”.

1. Dr Rekha Chhetri is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainable Development, CNR, RUB. Her expertise is in soil-plant nutrient dynamics, resilient framing, and sustainable livelihoods.

2. Dr Sonam Tashi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agriculture, CNR, RUB. He is engaged in organic agriculture and climate-resilient sustainable farming in Bhutan.

3. Dr Tshering Dorji will present his research topic on “Exploring DNA barcoding to identity macroinvertebrates of Bhutan”.

Dr. Dorji has worked as a lecturer in CNR for over one decade and is an expert on species distribution modeling and conservation planning.
