CBST Project Working Group Formed in Haa

400-20150420_CBST_Haa_2A Community-based Sustainable Tourism (CBST) Project Working Group in Haa Dzongkhag was formed on 14th April 2015. The working group comprises representatives from the local government of Eusu, Kartsho, Bji gewogs, Dzongkhag administration of Haa, Jigme Khesar Strict Nature Reserve and the National Centre for Riverine and Lake Fishery.

The main objective of the working group formation was to optimize community and cross-sectoral participation in development of community-based sustainable tourism in Haa Dzongkhag.

The meeting consisted of presentations on RSPN’s profile, RSPN’s experience of Conservation and Sustainable Livelihood Program and CBST in Phobjikha, the CBST project outline and plans in Haa, profile of the Phobjikha Environment Management Committee and the rationale for formation of a working group for CBST project in Haa. The working group will be functioning under a terms of reference which will be finalized upon review and consent from the members.
